Minor detained for murder of 15-year-old teenager in Zugdidi

Officers of the Police Department of Samegrelo-Zemo Svaneti of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Georgia, as a result of operational search and investigative measures, detained E.Ch. born in 2005. “The investigation established that the accused in Zugdidi, on the basis of a quarrel, inflicted several wounds with knives on a minor - S.M., born in 2007, who died before he was taken to the hospital.
Law enforcement officers, as a result of operational-search activities and investigative activities carried out shortly after the incident in hot pursuit, arrested E.Ch. in Zugdidi.
“The investigation is underway under article 109 of the Criminal Code of Georgia, paragraph “d”, which implies the deliberate murder of a minor under aggravating circumstances,” the department said.
For information, the crime is punishable by 16 to 20 years or life imprisonment.
We remind you that on November 20, a 15-year-old teenager was seriously injured in Zugdidi, who died before he was taken to the hospital.
