The Georgian Foreign Ministry responds to the illegal annexation of Ukrainian territories by Russia and writes that Georgia, which has survived attempts to forcefully change borders, will never recognize the results of the so-called referendums held in the regions of Ukraine.
“The Ministry of Foreign Affairs strongly condemns the referenda and the illegal annexation carried out by the Russian Federation on the territory of Ukraine, which is an open act of changing the internationally recognized borders of Ukraine by force.
These illegal actions once again flagrantly violated the fundamental principles of international law that protect the territorial integrity and sovereignty of all states.
"Georgia, having survived attempts to forcefully change borders, will never recognize the results of the so-called referendums held in the regions of Ukraine, and once again clearly declares its support for the sovereignty and territorial integrity of Ukraine within its internationally recognized borders," the Georgian Foreign Ministry said.
