“The European Council is ready to grant status to Georgia after fulfilling its obligations,” RFE/RL journalist Rikard Jozwiak wrote on Twitter.
“According to the final working version of the European Council, the Council has decided to grant candidate status to Ukraine and Moldova. It also states that the Council will decide on further steps after all the conditions determined by the Commission are fully met.
The European Council document also states:
“The European Council is ready to grant Georgia candidate status as soon as the priorities set for Georgia by the decision of the European Commission on the application for EU membership are met,” a Radio Liberty correspondent writes.
