Georgia begins accepting applications for participation in the Green Card Lottery

In Georgia, from October 5, the acceptance of applications from those wishing to take part in the Green Card Lottery with the aim of emigrating to the United States begins.
Registration takes place at dvprogram.state.gov and is free. The US Embassy in Georgia reminds you of frequent cases of fraud and asks not to contact individuals or organizations that help with filling out the Green Card. Applications will close on November 8 this year.
When registering, the card applicant is assigned a unique code that must be kept. It is with this code that, starting May 6, 2023, participants will be able to check their status on the dvprogram.state.gov website to find out if they are among the winners.
It is not worth waiting for a personal notification from the US government, the embassy notes. In addition, the diplomatic mission reminds that the winners must pay all expenses on their own - travel, housing. Also, the US authorities will not provide them with employment assistance or private services.
The Green Card Lottery was established by the US Immigration Act of 1990 and is run by the State Department once a year. 550,000 immigrant visas are issued each year to preserve the diversity of the US population and allow citizens of different countries to live there legally.
