“The Turkish market is open and high quality medicines will be imported from Turkey. There is a significant difference between drug prices. If the most popular medicines in our country cost conditionally 10 lari, in Turkey they cost lari or two lari. I did not hear arguments why it was impossible to open the Turkish market, so we decided to take this step. It came into force today, and I hope that importers and companies will import high-quality medicines from Turkey, which will significantly reduce the prices for medicines in Georgia,” - said Irakli Garibashvili.
A few days ago, the Prime Minister of Georgia said that the prices for medicines in Georgia are too high and that the government is going to take effective measures to reduce their cost.
