Georgia has reduced the period of isolation and quarantine for those who have been vaccinated and have a mild form of coronavirus. This was announced at a briefing by Deputy Minister of Health of Georgia Tamar Gabunia.

She said the period of isolation and quarantine for unvaccinated people would not change.

“For asymptomatic, mild cases, the maximum isolation-quarantine period will be eight days. However, at least 24 hours must have passed since the onset of symptoms, and it is strongly recommended to wear a mask for the next 5 days after the end of isolation.

In moderate and severe cases, the isolation period will be at least 10 days. There should be an improvement in symptoms over the past 24 hours. Here, too, it is highly recommended to wear a mask for the next five days after the end of isolation,” said Tamar Gabunia.

According to her, there are also changes regarding the quarantine period for people who have been in contact with infected people. If persons who have been in contact with a sick covid have already been vaccinated with two or three doses, they will be released from quarantine within 90 days after vaccination.

Unvaccinated people must be in quarantine for eight days and must wear a mask for 9-12 days after this period ends.
