In connection with these dates, from February 25 to March 3, 2018, the Charity Foundation "AI IA" is planning to hold a "Hearing Week" aiming to draw public attention to the importance of hearing, the risk of increasing the spread of hearing loss, the need for taking measures to prevent hearing damage and access to rehabilitation services in such cases.
The "Hearing Week" includes two main messages: "Cochlear Implants - No Limitations"; "Let’s Listen to the Future and Prepare for it".
Various events are planned within the frames of the Week: the lecture/workshop on the topic: Hearing Loss Caused by Loud Sounds and Using Headphones and Its Prevention will be held for teachers, students and their parents at Tbilisi Sophiko Chiaureli Public School #54 at 14:00, on February 28, while at Tbilisi Public School #6 – at 14:00, on March 1.
On March 1, the Charity Foundation "AI IA" will sign a Memorandum of Cooperation with The National Center for Ear, Nose and Throat Diseases, Japaridze-Kevanishvili Clinic and KIND Hearing LTD in order to implement joint projects in the field of habilitation/rehabilitation of children with hearing problems.
The activists of the Charity Foundation "AI IA" will distribute information booklets about noise-induced hearing loss at Metro Station Liberty Square at 13:00, on March 3. In addition, the stories of the parents of children with hearing loss will be posted on the official Facebook page of the organization from February 25 through March 3.
The Charity Foundation "AI IA" was established by businessman Vano Chkhartishvili on the Day of the Georgian Language - April 14, 2015. The Foundation offers up to 6 year-old children with cochlear implants a free complex rehabilitation (hearing and speech-language therapy) service after cochlear implants.
